Thanks!

Charles! Modeled, Textured, Smiling :D

Here is the model (textured, rigged, etc) of Charles!!

Working on this for one whole year, from preproduction (concept and design, boards, modeling, rigging) to production and animation, I've gotten extremely attached to this little guy. Can't help but laugh when I see his big eyes and big smile!

He started out as a little annoying trouble-maker who was the embodiment of every close encounter i have had with these people. Weird, dirty, in your space, mostly negative things. Then, thinking back and looking past appearances at all the times I've met these people, it allowed me to acknowledge that our prejudiced thoughts of these people are generally unfounded and only exist to give us a reason to keep our distance, which is unfortunate, because I have talked to most of these people and most of them have interesting and wise things to say (when they aren't rambling about weird things).

Which is why, on the journey to the end of the school year (more precisely near the end of pre-production) the hobo slowly turned from a distasteful and dirty little guy to an extremely nice, caring, adorable clown-around kind of guy. A child at heart. He's still dirty, but I can look past that, and hopefully you can too :D.

I've learned quite a bit during the whole production, not only artistically and technically, but it has also helped me discover a lot of other things(excuse my near-spiritual talk here). Most people are not what they seem to be, and you should always be willing to give them a chance and not judge them on the spot (easier said then done, but an effort should be made!).

And that is mostly the basis and moral of my short film!

Thanks for reading!

Metrobo : Storyboard Piece

Here is a part of the Storyboard of Metrobo!

It's when Charles makes fun of the automated intercom announcer. (I've seen this happen before, so no comments on my lack of reference :)...)

Enjoy!

Larry : Expression sheet

Left : Trying out different noses/styles || Right : Expressions!

Larry's expression sheet. Larry is (somewhat) the villain of the story, because he is a stuck-up office worker who's had a very tiring day (like all the other days in his life), and Charles bothers him after an extremely exhausting day.

Hope you enjoy!

Charles : Expression sheet!

Charle's expression sheet.

His main emotion is happy, and he never gets angry (not unless someone is bothering his buddies)
and there are other emotions in-between! Not as many expressions as I would have liked due to time
constraints, but there you have it!

Ciao!

Charles!

Say hi to Charles the Hobo!

He's one of two characters in my short movie called Metrobo (Working title)!

He's the happy little easy-going guy who just wants to be nice with everyone and make friends!

I will be posting other pictures and a synopsis of my story soon!
